Hand-Crafted Family Record
Exhibit Type:
Note: The quilts have gone to bed for now, but will be brought out for a special quilt show coming in 2027.
Hand stitched by Susan Woodin herself, this remarkable genealogy quilt preserves the story of her own family in fabric, thread, and care.
Each name represents a member of Susan Woodin’s family, creating a visual family tree that is both deeply personal and historically meaningful. More than a household object, the quilt is a record of family memory — one made by hand and passed forward as part of Woodinville’s early story.
This exhibit invites visitors to look closely at how history can be preserved not only in documents and photographs, but also in the objects people create to remember where they come from.
