Love Woodinville’s story? Volunteers are the heart of our organization, and we’re always looking for people with fresh energy, helpful ideas, and a love for community. Join our welcoming volunteer team and help bring local history to life—one story, event, exhibit, or friendly hello at a time.
We offer flexible opportunities for a variety of interests, skills, and schedules. Students are welcome to earn community service hours, and professionals can contribute specialized skills through pro bono projects, internships, or accreditation-related experience.
Museum Greeters & Hosts
Where to start? Become a greeter!
No experience required.
Museum greeters are the friendly faces who welcome visitors to the Heritage Museum and help guests get oriented.
Want to be a host?
After being greeted, visitors will meet our hosts! Each new Host volunteer is paired with an experienced Host for on-the-job training and support. Hosts share Woodinville’s history and stories!
Time commitment: 4-hour shifts on Sundays (when the museum is open), Volunteer for one shift per year—or more, if you’d like

Community Outreach
Community outreach volunteers work at community events and our public programming. Table at Celebrate Woodinville or serve coffee at our Saturday morning programs and work at many more community events. Great way to meet your community!
Time Commitment: 1 hour to 3 hours per event. You can choose one event or more.
Marketing, Social Media and Fundraising
Love Canva, newsletters, social media, or storytelling? We’d love your help bringing Woodinville’s history to life! Volunteers can help create The Homesteader, video clips, design simple graphics, support website updates, and share stories across social media.
Have a knack for fundraising, events, or grant writing? Join the team helping us grow our support, plan fun fundraising opportunities, connect with community partners, and seek grants that keep local history thriving.
Time Commitment: Varies (work from home opportunities)
Archives & Collections
Love local stories, old photographs, artifacts, or family history? We’re looking for collections and oral history volunteers to help preserve Woodinville’s past. Volunteers may assist with organizing photographs and records, documenting artifacts, researching local history, or helping capture memories from longtime residents. No museum experience required — just curiosity, care, and a love for the stories that make our community special.
Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per month
